Designs in this section usually get specified from the palette of the event rather than from a theme. That is a different conversation from an occasion cake, and it tends to be an easier one, because a colour range and a sense of the room is enough to start from.
Baroque and damask work sits here too, where each scroll is piped individually and then gilded so the pattern follows the shape of the cake rather than repeating from a mould. It is slow work and it reads as formal, which suits anniversaries and larger family occasions.
